Provincial Nominee Program
Newfoundland and Labrador has grown to become one of the most competitive places in which to do business in North America. It has positioned itself as a major player on the international scene with the development and advancement of high-tech industries and natural resources. Investors and entrepreneurs seeking to relocate, invest in or establish a business in this province may be eligible to be nominated by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador for permanent residence status in Canada. In addition, there are categories that will allow you to sponsor family members and hire highly skilled international graduates.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program seeks to recruit immigrants who have specialized occupational or entrepreneurial skills. Through an agreement with the Government of Canada, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador may nominate individuals for expedited permanent resident status. Nominees must settle in Newfoundland and Labrador and have sufficient ability to communicate in either English or French. Depending upon the program category in which an application is submitted, specific financial and other criteria will apply. Applications for nomination are accepted from qualified individuals in one of four categories:

Skilled Worker Category is for applicants with specialized skills and experience in occupations where critical skill shortages exist in the province's workforce. Applicants must have a guaranteed job offer from a local employer, or be currently employed in Newfoundland and Labrador with a valid work permit.

Immigrant Entrepreneur Category is for applicants who plan to be self-employed by starting a new business or purchasing an existing business in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Family Connections Category is for immigrant families living in Newfoundland and Labrador who want to help their overseas family members relocate and work in the province.

International Graduate Category is for international students, who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada, who want to live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador. International graduates have access to post graduate work permits issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
